Florence Howard Elementary School is a part of the Mobile County Public School System. Constructed in 1998, it is located on the historic Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue and named for the locally renowned educator, Ms. Florence Howard.  Howard is located directly behind Bishop State Community College. Florence Howard's administrative staff consists of Mrs. Regina Flowers, Principal.  Currently there are more than four hundred students attending the school.

Returning Students

Returning students must present two proofs of residence:

  • One must be a lease, rental agreement, or mortgage in the registering guardian’s name.
  • The other proof of residence can be a utility bill (must be current within 30 days).

New Students

Students new to the Mobile County Public School System must present to the school at the time of enrollment, the following documents:

    Parent/Guardian photo ID
    Student’s Social Security Card
    Student’s Certified Birth Certificate
    Alabama Certificate of Immunization
    Two proofs of residence
